The Concession
The Concession Golf & Country Club when fully complete will be comprised of 236 estate sized homes among 1,200 acres in eastern Manatee County.  Most of the home-sites are at least an acre in size.  Approved builders include Anchor Builders, John Cannon Homes, Landmark Development and Pruett Builders.  The Concession derives its name from one of the most poignant moments in professional golf when the final hole of the 1969 Ryder Cup Match at Royal Birkdale in England, Jack Nicklaus conceded a two-foot putt to Tony Jacklin, for the first of only two ties in Ryder Cup history. Today, that gesture is considered one of the finest acts of sportsmanship in golf history and serves as the inspiration for the Concession Golf and Country Club.  It is only fitting that Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin collaborated in designing the private course which has won many awards which include the following:

2006-2007 Golf Digest Best New Private Golf Course USA ( #1 )
2007-2008 Golf Digest Ranked #5 in Florida
2007 Links Magazine Top 100 Premier Golf Properties
2007 Travel & Leisure Golf Top 100
2008 Golf World Ranked #45 among top 100

Neighborhoods within The Concession include Nicklaus Manor which is comprised of 33 maintenance free homes of classical architecture.  Other neighborhoods at The Concession include Birkdale and Lindrick which feature one and two acre home-sites.

The 33,000 square foot club house is currently under construction.  When completed it will feature exceptional recreational facilities in a classic, relaxing atmosphere including a fully equipped fitness center, day lockers, showers, saunas, treatment rooms, a swimming pool and snack bar area. Har-Tru® tennis courts, private tennis lessons, and clinics will be provided along with other club programs.  Membership at this private club are available for a $125,000 deposit for residents of the Concession and a $150,000 deposit for non-residents.

Currently there are 20 homes offered at The Concession ranging from $1,877,750 to $8,400,000.  The most recent sale was a 11,237 square foot John Canon Model which sold for $7,199,900.  The average size of homes currently available is 6,032 sq feet.  Visit www.golfhomesofsarasota.com to request more information about this and other golf communities in the Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice areas.
